English Paper

For many years the United States of America have been passing laws or making amendments, but everytime the topic of gay marriage arises, they fail as a country to keep up with the word freedom! Homosexual individuals have to hide their relationships and aren't freely able to show emotions with one another in public. They don’t have the ability to walk the streets without millions of eyes staring at them, judging their choices and actions. Marriage is traditionally a public recognition of a couple's commitment to each other, and their acceptance as a family into society. Preventing gay couples from marrying is seen as a way of separating gay people from society. Legalizing gay marriage has been debated throughout the years, and as a free county, we should allow our people to be who they are without judgement.

Marriage is a symbol of love and commitment to another individual, whether it be male or female. Everyone should have the oppurtunity to freely express their emotions in public. Homosexuals shouldn’t be locked away in “closets”, hiding who they really are from society. If two men or two women love each other, dedicate and commit their lives to one another, they should be allowed to legalize their love and relationship in the eyes of god and the state. It must be hard for gay couples walking the streets having to hide their feelings and what they are. They know that it is their choice whether they come out and say who they are and who they love, but they choose not to because of the fact that society frowns upon it and they wont be accepted.

The United States of America claims to be the land of the “free”, but that is a lie. The land of the free should mean that everyone, regardless to sexual preference, should be able to walk the streets as they are without anyone critcizing and discriminating. The U.S. doesn’t recognize gay marriage in all, close to no states. Freedom is the citizens and residents of this county being able to express their thoughts and feelings without judgement from anyone. Homosexuals fear that if they show what they are in public, people will outcast them, making them feel like untouchables. We’re in the 21st century and we still caste systems and people being prejustice. Without knowing actual facts, someone people assume that of others resulting in pre judging them and casting them as either low class or untouchables. Most of the American community frown upon homosexuals. They either “don’t like” or are “afraid of” them, so it is said that they are “homophobic”.

If the United States passed a law that freely allows gay marriage that would override this caste system that we still have and prejustice people will realize that there is no need to be the way that they are against others. We don’t live in the times of segrigation anymore, therefore, we shouldn’t act as if we do. Everyone should be treated equally and we should come together as one and work on more important issues that this country is faced with. Gay marriage is an important issue right now, but all it takes is someone to make it legal and it wouldn’t be a problem. If passing a law allows certain people to be happy and to publically show their commitment and love to another, the country should be proud and do it. Be proud that our country would be the first to stop this discimination and maybe we’d be the ones to set an example to others and they’ll follow.

Gay marriage is a topic that this country has come across more than often, but it is ignored because noone feels that it is as important enough as immigriation or going to war with another country. The truth is that gay marriage is just as important as both of those topics. If gay people were able to be freely open and marry their partners, they would feel safe and proud of what they are as they walk through the streets and there isnt a single person staring at them or discriminating them of what they are. Since it isnt legally recognized yet, they don’t feel they have a choice to express themselves for who they are because they are afraid of what other people will think. Even though they do have a choice- either showing the world that they are homosexuals or hiding in the “closet”, most of them choose to hide because its easier for them to and they wont hear the whispers and bad talking that people do about them. If the U.S. just legalizes gay marriage, gay people would be able to be accepted by society and they’d be happy and proud to be Americans.

Not bad. Some basic spelling errors which detract from the message. Perhaps support some claims with research such as states that allow gay marriage. Personally, I would move away from blaming Americans for anti-gay sentiment in that many countries are considerably less tolerant of homosexuality than the USA. No matter how many laws are passed, human beings will still look upon homosexuality with disdain as it is very alien to traditional heterosexuals. Gay acceptance is more of a social issue than it is a American issue. Good thoughts though...keep it up!

Your paper is easy to read and very clear. I suggest avoiding contractions (e.g., don't) throughout the essay. I also think that the essay could be more organized, or at least try to add more transitions to separate the paragraphs.

Your essay is too long. Try curtailing it and being more specific.

The essay is way too long. you need to emphasize on what you are writing instead of just summarizing it.

I thought this esssay was interesting. It has a few gramatical errors that can be easily fixed. It also could transition more from paragraph to paragraph, but all in all it isnt bad.
